From old distributor to FlipDistro in about 2 weeks
Export your release list, ISRCs, UPCs, and metadata from your current distributor before doing anything else.
Ask your old distributor to remove your releases from stores. Never skip this — duplicates cause royalty splits and store conflicts.
Use the same ISRC and UPC for each track so the new upload matches the existing store pages instead of creating duplicates.
Stores take 3–10 business days to update. Your music stays live the whole time if the takedown and re-delivery overlap.
Download these from your current distributor's dashboard before requesting any takedown. Once your account is closed, you may not be able to retrieve them.
The unique code that identifies each recording. Reuse the exact same ISRC so streaming history carries over.
The barcode that identifies a single, EP, or album. Reuse it to preserve the store page and any accumulated stats.
Original WAV or FLAC masters. If your old distributor holds them, download from their dashboard before your account closes.
3000×3000 px JPG/PNG cover art at 300 DPI. Keep the same image so stores don't treat it as a new release.
Title, primary artist, featured artists, genre, language, composer, lyricist, publisher, record label, copyright.
Getting these wrong can cost you streams and revenue
Never upload to FlipDistro before requesting a takedown from your old distributor. Two live copies of the same ISRC will split your royalties.
Do not generate new ISRCs or UPCs for releases that already have them. New identifiers create brand-new store pages and you lose all accumulated streams and playlist placements.
If your old distributor refuses a takedown or is unresponsive, wait for confirmation before re-uploading. File a support ticket with both distributors if needed.
Some distributors hold your audio masters and delete them when you close your account. Download everything you need before cancelling.
No — as long as you reuse the exact same ISRC and UPC for each track and release. The stores match the identifiers and your accumulated streams, playlist placements, and save counts carry over to the same store pages.
Plan for 2–4 weeks end to end. The takedown from your old distributor can take 5–10 business days, and re-delivery through FlipDistro takes another 3–10 business days depending on the store.
Request the takedown first, but do not close your account until you have downloaded your audio files, artwork, and a full export of your metadata and royalty reports. Once you have everything, you can cancel.
Yes. Use the Catalog Import tool to upload a CSV of your releases and we map the fields for you. For large catalogs, our team can assist with bulk migration — reach out via the support chat.
Check your old distributor's dashboard or royalty reports — they are always listed there. If the distributor is closed, contact your previous aggregator or look up the release on ISRC databases. Generating a new one should be a last resort only for genuinely unreleased tracks.
Not if you time it right. The safest approach is to get your FlipDistro upload approved and delivered first, then request the takedown from your old distributor so the two overlap. A brief overlap is fine — a gap is not.
